Over the next month, focus your awareness on two specific aspects, and while they may or may not be interconnected, dedicate your attention to them. During this period, take note of the activities that immerse you in a state of flow, where time seems to slip away effortlessly. This might encompass moments spent with your children, such as coaching a soccer game, or quality time shared with your spouse. It could also encompass specific professional tasks, such as performing a particular type of surgery. Whatever these activities may be, keep a keen eye on them.
Simultaneously, pay heed to the activities that replenish your energy reserves. At the time I shared this advice, I had recently returned from a vigorous mountain bike ride. Despite the fatigue that naturally accompanies such an endeavor, I felt invigorated and fulfilled. For me, being surrounded by the beauty of nature, especially in the midst of mountains, serves as a foundational element of my identity.
