From army vets to parents of 11: our incredible journey

From serving in the army to rescuing farm animals, my husband and I have had quite the journey.

After retiring in 2010, we started a nonprofit farm animal rescue, born from the community's need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Were also proud parents to 11 children, ranging from ages 3 to 27, six of whom we adopted after having five of our own.

Our family grew through foster care and adoption, with many of our children having special needs like Down syndrome and Tourette's syndrome.

Between our nonprofit and our large family, our expenses add up quickly.
