Currently, there are over 6,100 hospitals across the United States. It's reasonable to assume that a significant portion of them provide their physician compensation data to MGMA. However, it's perplexing that despite this wealth of data, there seems to be a dearth of information for benchmarking hospital CEO compensation. This raises suspicions and hints at a possible conspiracy. It appears that while physician salaries are openly disclosed, there's a reluctance to share CEO compensation details. As an executive with years of education and experience, it's understandable that you consider yourself an important figure deserving of privacy regarding your compensation. Nevertheless, the apparent lack of transparency in this area is concerning and warrants further scrutiny.
