Insufficient focus on addressing burnout in hospitals and medical institutions: Time for a change

Are the current efforts enough to combat burnout? Absolutely, positively not!

When it comes to improving clinician and healthcare worker resiliency, we often see a reliance on resiliency training classes, supplemented by yoga and relaxation techniques. But let's be clear: these measures fall far short of what is truly needed.

It's time to shift the conversation to the organizational level. We must recognize and honor our colleagues by acknowledging the need for more. Simply introducing another mindfulness-based intervention or resiliency class is not going to cut it.

We require comprehensive, organizational-level implementations, and dare I say, even national-level initiatives.
