I am deeply concerned about the unprecedented Korean doctor strike. The government's plan to make it harder for physicians to emigrate is particularly troubling, as it undermines their autonomy and freedom. However, there is hope as the court is actively reviewing legal cases filed by residents and attending physicians, who are seeking to halt the government's unilateral reforms.
Recently, the court demanded scientific evidence to justify the urgent need to increase the medical student quota by 2000. This demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based decision-making, ensuring that policy changes are justified and effective. While the situation is serious, the judiciary's involvement offers a beacon of hope for a fair resolution.
