Medical errors should not be solely blamed on clinicians; it would be an oversimplification. Infrastructure changes are necessary to avoid reducing the issue to a legal battle between patients and physicians, as it does a disservice to both parties. In an ideal world, clear legal guidelines beyond lawsuits would be implemented. Research suggests that apologies in cases of medical errors vary in quality, and patients and families should be made aware of these errors. There is a need for medical education to address what constitutes a quality apology. #MedicalErrors #InfrastructureChanges #QualityApology
