When we're in medicine, we're often told that academic work and knowledge translation happen primarily within the confines of the academy. We publish in academic journals, interact with colleagues, and deliver keynote speeches at conferences. But I've come to realize that there's a crucial aspect of knowledge translation (#KnowledgeTranslation) in reaching the wider community.
Disseminating information to the community is not just a matter of sharing knowledge; it's an equity issue (#EquityInKnowledge). TikTok provides an incredible platform for us to bridge this gap. It allows us to engage the community in meaningful ways and break down barriers. In addition to writing articles and hosting a podcast, I believe we can embrace various avenues to involve the community in the conversations we're having.
