It's the most serene phase of my life – a time when I, as an individual, wield immediate influence over others. This is the juncture where I sense the highest degree of control over the environment, shaping it to my liking. Astonishingly, it's also the juncture where I feel an unparalleled closeness to my patients. Oddly enough, this might sound amusing given that I am primarily a robotic surgeon.
Physically, I stand around 10 to 20 feet away from my patients for the majority of procedures. However, the connection forged in those moments is intense, akin to a one-on-one exchange with the intricate dance happening within their bodies. Your mind and hands become entwined with their well-being. Though hesitant to label it as such, it's almost a magical bond – that's the sensation when everything progresses smoothly, which thankfully is often the case.
However, it's worth noting that this harmony can swiftly shift into tumultuous and challenging terrain when circumstances take an unfavorable turn.
