During the various instances of medical errors within your medical history, did the medical institution ever extend an apology to you, expressing their remorse for the situation?
Indeed, they did. It's an important aspect to consider because when I had to return a month later for another surgery to remove the drain that was left inside, I reached out to the hospital team to inform them of the incident. They did, in fact, offer their apologies.
This illustrates the significance of an apology; it bridges the gap between the patient and the healthcare institution. It reminds us that everyone, including medical professionals, is fallible and can make mistakes without diminishing their humanity.
