The power of trust in medicine is truly remarkable. As doctors, we may only interact with our patients for a short time, but the bond formed is undeniable. Even when our patients are asleep for the majority of our interactions, there is still an intimacy and shared humanity that cannot be ignored.
As we take our patients closer to death than they will ever come in their lifetime and bring them back, they trust us with their lives. It's a privilege to be a part of this sacred connection between physicians and patients.
