Our bodies serve as repositories for our emotions and stress. I recall my academic days when I learned about the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems, and the intricate workings of the vagal nerve. However, what medical training often overlooks is how to harness these mechanisms effectively.
Yoga, although not conventionally part of medical curriculum, offers an incredible avenue to nurture our bodies and facilitate a profound shift in our sensory experiences. It allows us to recalibrate how we perceive sensations in our bodies, ultimately enabling us to return to a state of clear and insightful thinking. I refer to this state as "guide thinking," where stress dissipates, and innovative solutions become visible, even in the most challenging circumstances.
