What does ME/CFS feel like? #shorts

I'd never felt anything like it before until I started experiencing it. It's not just I exercised; I'm tired or sore the next day. It's that my heart rate went up, and I can't move. I had periods where I couldn't speak, like I just felt so entirely paralyzed by whatever sort of energy system in my body was failing.

And it also comes with sensory overload. So any sound, any noise, any light feels painful. And it's the cognition again, for me, that's really terrifying in that I was watching a movie with my partner, and I just, I couldn't follow anything when, as somebody who writes for a living, it was really startling to me that I just, I couldn't keep track of the characters.

I couldn't keep track of the plot. And so really dis portion, Bodily and cognitive and emotional reactions to what's going on. I mean, it's a really strong signal that there's something going on and also that you probably should not keep pushing because that's the thing that's triggering these reactions.
