The role of the personal statement really is to give people a sense of who you are and how you might fit into this program. Who are you as a person? What triggers you, What will make you a good fit for this program? And it is a way to allow the interviewer to ask you some questions. So introduce some interesting personal aspects of yourself, of your journey. Do you have some particularly interesting struggles that you went to? Is there a family member that was ill that made you want to choose medicine? So those are all of the different things that a personal statement should include, and that's the role of it, to help the institution that you're interviewing for start to asking you some questions on the interview day.
