When doctors stop seeing patients as people

Imagine feeling like just a body part instead of a whole person. That's what one of my colleagues realized when she noticed her patients felt like kidneys on legs. It was a wake-up call about how this perspective affects trust and communication in patient care. Our research highlights that when patients feel unseen, it strains the relationship and complicates care goals. How can we ensure every patient feels genuinely acknowledged and valued?
